The Med is the name of the new Mediterranean bar and restaurant located on Perne Road, approximately one mile from the city centre on the outskirts of Cambridge. Formerly known as The Master Mariner, The Med has recently undergone a massive transformation under the stewardship of its new owners and has been revitalised since its grand opening.
The Med is divided into two sections, a large and open bar area, serving a well known and much loved selection of beers, wines and spirits, offering a friendly and relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a pint of San Miguel and watch the many sporting events they screen live on their flat screen plasma that adorns the wall.
If you are visiting The Med for a lunchtime or evening meal you will be invited to dine in their restaurant area; with traditional interiors and a comfortable atmosphere, relax and enjoy the fruits of their predominantly modern British menu, augmented by Mediterranean influence. With dishes ranging from starters such as a Traditional Prawns served in a cocktail sauce; to A Soya Duck, served with a cucumber salad. The main courses offer a choice of a few different well presented cuisines from Mediterranean dishes to traditional British food dishes that you just can’t beat - including Fish and chips and sausages and mash. As well as traditional British and Mediterranean cuisine you will also find a superb selection of freshly prepared pizzas, all available with generous servings of all your favorite toppings. There is something on the menu that will please every ones taste buds. The Med definitely won’t disappoint.
With its location, The Med comes a number of distinct advantages, with its large patio and garden area, you can relax in the summer sunshine and enjoy a drink or a meal, there is plenty of room in their car park for you to not worry about where to leave your car – and in the evenings The Med also hosts a number of live music events, with bands coming from the local area and beyond to play on the stage, which is situated in one corner of the restaurant area.
With so much to offer, it is quite simple to see why The Med is gaining a reputation as one of the more unique dining destinations in the city, so why not pay them a visit to see what they have to offer.
