Don Pasquale posted on 1 February 2013

Situated on the market square, in the centre of Cambridge is one of the city’s longest standing and most admired restaurants  - Don Pasquale. Thought of by many local residents as the original and best Italian restaurant in Cambridge - this family run establishment has stood on Market Hill for over 35 years.

When paying a visit to Don Pasquale you’ll find a unique welcome and atmosphere – the restaurant’s day to day running is undertaken by two cousins, both named Pasquale Benedetto and known as Big Pasky and Little Pasky. Both Big and Little Pasky have ensured that every customer that walks through the door is offered a professional and friendly service from their welcoming staff.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere to sit back and relax with a cup of coffee, enjoy a light lunch or enjoy a leisurely evening meal, you’ll find Don Pasquale the perfect city centre location – with the Grand Arcade multi-storey car park just a two minute walk away and the heart of the city’s shopping district at you finger-tips.

The restaurant is split into two dining areas, either inside, in the cellar restaurant – offering a cosy and intimate setting or outside on their large patio area – where you can enjoy the sunshine on your back and the sights and sounds of the Cambridge Market – perfect for an afternoon of people-watching.

The location of Don Pasquale is one of its most endearing features, however, the main reason they have been welcoming patrons through their doors, time and time again, for so many years, is their superb menu. Everything you’ll find on the menu is freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients, offering a wide range of pizza and pasta dishes and a selection of house specials - fresh from the grill, all lovingly prepared from classic Italian recipes, complemented wonderfully by crisp fresh salads and delicious side orders.

With Don Pasquale being so close to many of the city centre’s entertainment venues, it offers a perfect destination for a pre theatre dinner – if you’re heading to the Cambridge Corn Exchange, the Cambridge Arts Theatre, ADC Theatre or the Arts Picturehouse, complete your evening by booking a table.

Towards the end of 2010, Don Pasquale have been making some improvements and modifications to their building, offering Cambridge a new venue available for private functions, conferences and meetings and family functions – the venue has been tipped as one of Cambridge’s best kept secrets, so if you’d like to find out more, contact either Big or Little Pasky at the restaurant for more details.
