Coming together at The Junction on 12th March from as far away as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa, nine-piece instrumental band The Apples serve up Big Band blares and Middle Eastern elements layered on a raw and dirty funk base. Spontaneity is key; as a torrent of decks, horns, double bass, drums and electronic effects combine in improvised arrangements to wow audiences. With no digital samples, guitars or keyboards, the resulting sounds, cuts and scratches are powerful to say the least… and most definitely dance inducing.
