The Russuan State Philharmonic make a welcome return to the Cambridge Corn Exchange, under their eminent music director, Valery Poliansky and his extremely talented daughter, the pianist Tatyana Polianskaya.
The programme will start with Khachaturian's delightful Masquerade Suite, with its famous lilting waltz theme. This will be followed by perhaps the most loved piano concerto, Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No.2. In the second half the orchestra will play Rimsky Korsakov's exotic Scheherazade.
