The Grantchester Fair, The Meadow posted on 25 July 2012
The Grantchester Fair (which was postponed from May this year) WILL now be taking place over the weekend of 8 and 9 September. Now in its fourth year, The Grantchester Fair has become a regular permanent fixture in the local events' calendar. A spokesman for organisers Oakleigh Fairs said ‘We are so looking forward to this event taking place - it’s just the perfect setting for a Country Fair – just a stroll or a bike ride from the City Centre, with the Church, the Village itself and the river providing a beautiful backdrop to what we hope, will once again be a super weekend for all of the family’.
With something for everyone, from Horkesley Park’s Heavy Horse Demonstration Team with their Suffolk Punches, TotallyTerriers fun Terrier Racing team, Children’s Entertainment will include traditional Punch and Judy, Childrens’ Farm and Ferret Racing as well as TotallyPonies for children to groom and tack-up, The Totally Falconry birds of prey and owl flying displays, as well as Knights of Honour medieval village and fighting knights, Goat Show featuring milking and cheese-making, Totally Exotics for the brave amongst you and on Sunday the Companion Dog Show – so bring along a canine friend and have a go! (And all proceeds from entries will go to ACT).
And if that’s not all – as well as stick furniture making there will also be other rural demonstration skills to enjoy, and you can sample and buy in our Arts, Crafts and Gifts marquees as well as Lifestyle and Food Stalls.
Local Special Interest Groups are warmly invited to take part and we welcome enquiries from trade stands
