The band - whose Top 10-charting third album Last Night On Earth was released in March and has so far borne two huge singles in the shape of Tonight's The Kind Of Night and L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N., which took up residence in the Top 40 for a mightily impressive 12 straight weeks.
To mark the start of a crazy Takeover Week by performance artist and all-round goddess, Bryony Kimmings, there is a launch party of Asti Spumante, fun and nibbles on Friday 21st. The Takeover Week will also include performances of Bryony’s wickedly funny shows: Mega (from Saturday 22nd to Wednesday 26th October), featuring an audio tour of the city complete with Walkman and pink shell suit, and the much-reviewed work of pure genius, 7 Day Drunk (on Wednesday 26th October at 8pm).
Daniel Sloss, recently featured in the Comedy Festival and touted as “Scotland’s half-man-half-Xbox, hormone-ridden comic prodigy”, is currently one of the fastest rising stars of UK comedy. He started stand-up shows aged 16 and appeared on popular comedy shows such as Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, 8 out of 10 Cats, and Comic Relief’s Mock the Week.
Following Proteus' re-imagining of Bram Stoker's Dracula for the stage, comes their version of Mary Shelley's classic gothic tale of the ultimate act of creation spiralling out of control. This version blends the novel with the story of the book's creation during the infamous weekend shared by Mary Shelley, Percy Shelley and Lord Bryon.
Following the huge success of his 2010 tour, Al Murray The Pub Landlord is for the second time extending his Barrel of Fun Tour. Britain’s best-known Pub Philosopher will be serving up his own special brew of bar room banter at venues across the UK this autumn.
